Shukufuku no Ceska

The island nation of Nankan hosts the Makari Academy, an elite school effectively ruled by the caprices of its wealthiest pupils—royals from surrounding kingdoms. Ceska, a brilliant polyglot with an obsessive interest in anthropology, is enlisted to serve as interpreter and moderator for the feuding Council of Royals, especially as they prepare to welcome the first-ever students from the Yaguu—a people unable to wield magic in a world where mystical blessings known as Lua are believed to be bestowed by the goddess Saryaa. When the Yaguu delegation arrives, led by their elusive crown prince Shiki, tensions quickly escalate. After a fraught Council session inexplicably results in the disappearance of Lua across the entire world—and a sudden, unsettling unification of language—Ceska sets out to uncover the truth. On Nankan, she soon learns, nothing and no one is quite what they appear to be.
